as a kid that grew up in St Louis and worked at a center I can remember us having one of those in the display counter, price tag circa '63-'64 was $50. All of us that worked their thought that was the most out-rageous thing we'd ever heard of,...a bowling ball for $50,..no way. It sit there for a long time...finally the owner/manager drilled for himself,..no one ever bought it.
