Need Advice for Drill...URGENT

I am going to an auction in the morning and they have a drill press I would like to get cheap. It is a Delta and is a older style. It was discontinued in 1999. I have included two links with pics and info on that model. I need to know if this model will work if I just buy a ball jig later. It has 12 speed settings starting at 250 rpm, so that should be good right? I think I read here that a good speed would be 450rpm when drilling balls. Anyway, any help you can give is appreciated.

What is not stable enough about it? You have to anchor it down, but then it should be ok. I'm just looking something to start out with experimenting with my own stuff. Is'nt the jig the peice that clamps the ball down to hold it stable while drilling? Why would that be 500-800 bones? I don't need anything fancy. Not gonna be drilling for anybody else.

you need to be able to accurately set your pitches and be able to consistant.

also like already mentioned the base might not stable enough. you need something a few hundred pounds to be stable enough.

In that link the base looks like plastic, but I have looked at the one thats gonna be in the auction and the base is solid steel. I looked up the weight on it also and it says like 220lbs. Is it not gonna be stable enough b/c it is a floor model? Do I need a table top press instead?
