Which Ball??
« on: January 09, 2015, 03:18:56 PM »
Given the choice of these three balls and their differences in coverstock and characteristics, nevermind layouts, which is best suited for THS on synthetic lanes?

1) Storm HyRoad Pearl
2) Storm Special Agent
3) Roto Grip Theory

I know layout will be a factor (how much, I don't know) but here's a little more info;
I'm right handed, and according to the driller that drilled my last ball (Theory), he said my style would be considered a tweener, my ball speed (which is 14.3 mph) and rev rate are about equal.  Again, whatever that means and how it factors in.

Basically I'm just curious as to what others would use, given these choices.  And getting another ball at this time is not an option.

Thanks!!

The Theory is going to be too strong for your ball speed.  I would consider the Hyroad Pearl because it will help give you push down the lane and with your rev rate; it should give you decent backend reaction without being too uncontrollable.  If it is; then you can always adjust the surface to fine tune the reaction.

Depends on what you're bowling on. Units of oil will be key. These are 3 completely different balls. All 3 designed for different things. There are too many variables to pick a ball.

absolutely need to know surface and volume of the lanes

to elaborate a but further
layout has minimal impact on ball motion
surface is the most influential
pin to PAP distance will also matter
