USBC Championship 2010 Pattern
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:53:59 PM »
Got to practice 8 games on this Pattern today. For some reason, my house (Schofield Bowling Center) didnt put out the 2010 Senior Pattern for this week. Theyre going to just put this old shot they had out 4 weeks ago. The one before they had the Earl Anthony shot.

Bowled with 3 other bowlers tonight as well. 3 Stroker types playing 3 totally different lines lol. One was pointing in from outside the 5 to the 10 and having the ball curve into the pocket. Another playing straight up the 10. And the other playing the totally wrong place, 15 to the 10, and the ball would rarely hit the 10 pin.
They said it was actually a Flooded Route 66, but just by watching the many people bowling around them. I could tell it wasnt. Then asked the front desk for the real line, and it was the USBC Championship Pattern.
Started bowling on the pair of lanes about 12 games prior to when they oiled it, so not too broken down. But i later found out how much the oil had been pushed to the outside.

1st game:
Using the Mission 2.0. I found a line playing the 12 to 6-7 board. Had to slow my ball speed down a little bit. Tested the inside line after the first 5 frames. And played from the 30 to the 10. Not as consistent as the outside line. Some balls would react perfectly. And some wouldnt check up at all.
ended up only shooting 209.

2nd game:
Changed to my Polished Storm 2Furious. Found a line playing the 10 to the 5. Other then that, the inside line didnt work at all. The ball would check up in the midlane. Even tried playing from the left side gutter to no avail. Ended up just throwing a 195.

3rd game:
Changed to the Storm 2nd Dimension which i finished drilling up today. 45 x 4" x 45 layout. Found a line throwing down the rail''ish. Playing from the 7 to outside the 5. The ball reacted nicely in the oil, carried nicely, and finished strong. Also tried playing the inside from the 30 to the 12 board. Almost the same as the Mission, the reaction was too inconsistent. Went back to throwing the outside line in the end. Ended up throwing 220.

4th game:
Tried out the Brunswick Wild Ride this time. This ball did great on the rail. Playing from the 5 to the rail. Ball would go down the oil smoothly, and arc strongly into the pocket. Had no reason to try out an inside line. Ended up shooting 231.
And everyone else finished now lol. So me and the last bowler were still going to bowl.

5th game:
Changed out to the 900 Global Bank. Ball didnt do well at all. Played outside and the inside. Ball wouldnt react consistently in the oil on the outside, and would check up and flip to early trying to play from the middle and the left side gutter. Could barely find a consistent line to the pocket on this one. Black Ice came in handy this game though lol. Ended shooting a 177.

6th game:
Brought out one of the Storm Invasions (45 x 4" x 45 Layout). Ball did great on the outside. Didnt like the inside either like everything else. By the 6th frame we were doing stupid/skill shots xD opposite hand, whirlwinds, and from the tile shots lol. Ended up shooting 168 haha.

7th game:
Tried out the Storm Virtual Energy. Did great on the outside like mostly all of them haha. Mid-Game i switched to the Virtual Gravity and tried to find a line. Same thing, found a line on the outside. Last frame i was throwing the Brunswick C.System 3.5. Does the same line as the Wild Ride. Ended up shooting 216.

8th game:
me = was tired lol. was bored so i tried something new... Threw a different ball for the strike ball each frame haha. This was actually my high game for the night. Even used the Black Ice and the Soccer Ball. Ended up shooting 235.

Not too bad for the night. Gonna have to modify the arsenal for this shot now. This shot tends to like the Pearl type of bowling balls, Polished Solids, and for some reason the 3.5 haha.

Series for the night: 1651
Avg: 206.375

Not too shabby for testing out balls that''ll work well on the pattern, and the stupid stuff we did in the end lol.

And nice game to Chance bowling on the lane to our left, awesome tie at 231 xD lol

Didnt see to many high games tonight throughout the alley. Highest ive seen was a 242.

Should be an interesting night on Thursday during league
