Looking for a ball that.....
« on: February 11, 2004, 11:54:08 PM »
I'm looking for a ball that...

...I want a ball that will go long and break hard w/ a high hook potential.
I throw a fast ball with med/high rev

What can you suggest?

Some Basics

Coverstock: Reactive
Ball Finish: High Gloss Polish
Hook Potential: 140-150 (High) on a scale of 10-150 Low-High
Length: 200 (Late) on a scale of 25-235 Early-Late
Breakpoint Shape: 90 (Angular) on a scale of 10-100 Arced-Angular
Recommended Lane Conditions: medium-oily to medium-dry

Well I would probably go with the new tripple x factor by Storm.  From what I've head, it's supposed to go pretty long and then have a lot of hook/snap on the back end.

yeah but you have to remember that, that ball only have about 3-4" of flare and with a high ball speed the ball will go longer and now hook as much on the back end unless you have some lane condition with fried backends.  Another sugggestion that I would go for if you're looking for a reactive resin ball that will hook a lot would be the full throttle by columbia 300.  This ball is a high reactive resin bowling ball and is meant to hook fairly soon but since you have such high speed the ball will go longer for you and have an increased backend to it (especially if you polish it).

The Throttle up has the MuscleGT coverstock.. which is particle not reactive resin. Go with the detour, trust me, I think that its a winner.

Dyno-thane Thing Returns.

I just drilled one, a 14 lb one, pin about 5-1/4 and the CG about 5-1/2 from my PAP.  OUt of the box surface.  It goes very long with a controllable "bounce" effect.

Look it up.  Great energy retention.
