Bowler100,
As someone who owns the Nuclear Cell, Phaze III, and AstroPhysix balls, I can tell you that the Nuclear Cell is more responsive to friction than the others in the Storm and Roto Grip lineup. Period!
If a hockey stick reaction is what you "really" want, then you have to be prepared for the reaction that you “will be†getting. The Nuclear Cell is so responsive to friction that it literally can come back from all parts of the lane. However, because of that same responsiveness, if you miss your spot with the ball, you will be dealing with a split or high hit through the face. Seriously.
I am not the most accurate bowler in the world, so I like balls that allow for a little bit of miss room left or right. I see that in my Phaze III and AstroPhysix. However, with the Nuclear Cell, I have to be damn near perfect because of the responsiveness of the cover. And, I have to move quicker during a game because of it. Sometimes, it can be frustrating because I am not used to moving that fast during a game. And of course, when it is useable, it’s a fantastic ball.
In closing, if you want a ball that will force you to move every 3 or 4 frames, yet looks good on the lanes, then the Nuclear Cell is the bomb. LOL! But if you want the same type of look from other Storm or Roto Grip balls, there are other choices that look just as good, but will not cause you to want to grab a “hockey stick†and smash the ball to pieces. LOL!
Regarding the Nuclear Cell, use at your own risk! It’s a good ball, but it might make your head go BOOM!
LOL! Peace!
