Bowling rings
« on: September 05, 2008, 08:52:49 AM »
How often do you wear your bowling ring/s?  I know in the past, it used to mean something and people were proud to wear them.  Now, I see 1 out of 150 in my scratch league wearing his bowling rings during league.  To be honest, the only time I pull my rings out of storage and wear them is during nationals.  I forgot to this past year.  Good thing too because I didn't shoot all that great.

I don't have one as I have not bowled long or well enough to accomplish the feat to get one.

My buddies and coach do not wear there 300 or 299 rings as they say they don't feel that proud of them. My coach though does wear his 800 ring as it means a great deal to him.

I wear my 300 ring all the time (except when bowling, I don't like the feel of it on my hand while bowling).  I don't brag about it and show it off.  People on rare occasion ask about it, but not very often.  I like the way it looks on my hand just from an aesthetic standpoint, and I did earn it even if 300s are "common" anymore.  However, once I get my ring for the 800 I shot last week, I'll start wearing that instead most of the time since I'm very proud of that one.  800 series are still not all that common.

I don't wear mine.

I don't have a problem with people who want to wear one.

But I don't understand people who wear 3,4,5 rings at a time.

I dont wear mine anymore.  In fact I dont wear any rings except my wedding ring.  I had a bad experience with rings.  I took a pretty good jolt from a Radar unit thru my ring I had on.  Yeah I know I should have taken it off before I stuck my hand in the thing but, when trying to get underway and everybody screaming you forget some times so I dont wear them.  Good news is I loved the watches and wear one every day.

I don't wear mine.  I'm very proud of shooting 300/800, but I'm not much of a jewelery person.

My wedding ring is just a plain band and I don't wear it half the time.

If there is a next time, I will just get the plaque or donate the award.
