For the "old timers" on the site
« on: October 31, 2004, 12:06:42 PM »
I had something happen today that has never happened to me before...

We were warming up for a Halloween 40 Frame scotch doubles tournament at a local center today. There were 5 couples on the pair. A young man, somewhere between 20-25, looks around at all of us on the pair, and exclaims "Man, we're REALLY young!"

When the rest of us stopped laughing, I wasn't sure how to react!!! Of course, we then went out and handily beat him and his partner.

Went to a disco once with my wife and found I was the only one with grey hair. Even the no-hair ones are younger than us.

Glad you"handily beat him and his partner".

I used to tell the young ones that they should not write us off as they may never get to our age.

mumzie,

Don't feel too bad.  I work for a company that deals with alot of customers on a daily basis.  I was asked on several ocassions when I was going to retire.  They thought I looked like I was in my late 40's early 50's.  I didn't say a word.  I still have about a year and 2 months before I turn 40!!!

Cheers

I haven't noticed while bowling, but I've had it happen at concerts.  I'm not old, but when you're in your upper 30's and few others around are over 16, it makes you feel really old.
