Looking for new equiptment
« on: September 21, 2008, 07:05:01 AM »
Hey all looking for a new company to throw. I really liked how my old brunswick Inferno's rolled but the next closest thing is Smash Zone. I have storm stuff now and its hit or miss for me. I bowl in 4 leagues all synthetic and tourny's when ever I can. About me, I can be described as a stoker like to play fairly straight but still can open them up when needed, lower revs tilt is around 45 deg, 15 to 16 mph my axis is 5 inches over 1/2 up.

I have been looking at the global 900 stuff, and hammer mostly but still open to all companies. Please help.

Me being a storm freak (hence the name) I would have to say try out the brand new rapid fire solid or if you wanted even a little more you can try out something in the premier line. A little more information would be nice, like rpms and the condition of your home lanes.

I agree with this, it's just very expensive. I would have to say that at this point in time theres no better way to go than hammer. The widows, vibes, and raw hammer stuff is all great. And this is coming from a guy who has never had any hammer equipment so it's a fairly unbiased opinion.

Try the Code by AMF it reminds me of the original Inferno except better. It is a great ball. I think if you check the specs on both you'd be surprised to see how close they are.

You may want take a look at Roto Grip, I have purchased my first two Roto Grip balls, a Grand Illusion and Cell, I have not thrown the cell much yet (not enough oil) but the Grand Illusion has replaced the Black Widow Solid in my bag, I have had some questions about it as their have not been many Roto Grip balls being thrown in our center (a mix of Ebonite, Hammer, Brunswick and Storm usually).

Ebonite by far. Stroker, got the Gamebreaker, Playmaker, Complete NV and the New Bash and you'd be set for every condition perfectly for a stroker and an NVD if you need something for heavy this ball is a bear on oil, and dont believe the oil absortion scheme, take care of the equipment and it will last just as long if not longer than anything else.Especially those widows everyones talking about, they are oil hogs. My opinion (dont take this the wrong way) but Hammer blows(for me atleast),I've had every widow and the anger and pyscho, only good ball they came out with (including the widows) is the BWB, 40 feet then a sharp 70 degree turn is not what I want, Ebonites stuff is smooth as silk. Just my opinion, but I think you would do well with it, I love Ebonite and will be using it for a long long time. Storm also has good stuff but like you said its very expensive.

Go with roto grip. The cell is an amazing ball, rolls very smoothly for me. Also, with the grand illusion, illusion, and neptune already being in the line up. Finally with the cell pearl adding in. It is probably going to be some of the best out there.
