Not mine. I decided against doing them this year. I thought it was time to explore other things besides bowling.

Of course, I know that without some time, dedication, and money to help those endeavours I won't move past the 186 avg I posted last year in my PBA league. I'm just not going to get that involved with it till I have that to give. If you cant go 100%, I don't wanna go at all.

Not mine. A scheduling conflict kept me away regrettably. But I don't even have an ego bowling house shots...

after 3 weeks I am averaging 205 in PBAX league.  No ego crush here.  Yes it is -20 from THS but I am still happy with it.

Wasn't that the point?

Maybe not to crush egos, but give those that actually want to get better at the sport a chance to see where they need to improve.  Give those that think they can do what the pros do a small slice of humble pie.  Give some of the better bowlers a different look than the THS.

Some many of us are so into defeating these "house hacks."  Bowl for the right reasons.  If you want to bowl to beat the house hacks, throw it like them to beat them, if they are that lucky with their bad releases and mental games.  If you want to bowl to be tops in your area/state/country, there's more to learn and experience than the THS, and there's more people to beat than the "hacks" and egos.

I actually stumbled into a GREAT summer PBA league. It's a small house (8 lanes). 8 teams of 4. Most have bowled this same league for at least two or three years now. After the 4th week, I have not heard a gripe yet! I am down 40 pins from THS. For some reason, the spare game I used to have has vanished entirely! I am throwing plastic hard and straight, but I could not hit water if I fell out of a boat lately. We are running two weeks on each pattern (shortest to longest). We began by easing into a tougher shot by starting with the USBC Nationals pattern. We will finish the league on the US Open pattern.

ours is small, I suck on it but no big deal, it has convinced me to do the whole winter league this coming fall, I dont care what I average as long as I start to see improvement for the better in my game.  I will be quitting 3 of my house shot leagues to do this highly competitive pbax league this fall, one THS on a longer pattern and the PBAX.  I am looking forward to it

I'm 40 pins down from my THS average, and having a blast.  I just wish I could throw more than a double once in a while  I have a high game of 199, a low of 122 amd my high set is 487/3 on Shark.  I've seen two patterns so far (Shark/Cheetah) and I'm being handed Chameleon next week.
