Just recently, my job forced me to quit the only league that I was in. Two weeks have gone by, and I acctually feel better now that Im not bowling, and every time I look at my bag, I feel like selling it with the stuff, and using the money for something else.
I just feel that bowling isn't as fun as it use to be, when bowling with urethane stuff was tuff. I remember only having three balls, the Blue Dull Hammer, Burgundy Hammer, and a Red Pearl Hammer, and averaged 190 in juniors with those. Very good rolling balls, and had to work for everything that I bowled. Screw this 'not hitting the ball stuff'. No days, everyone has to carry 5 or more balls in order to compete.
I guess it just was ment for me to just move on and keep sticking with racing.

It's easy to get disheartened, if the balls you are carrying do not allow you to look like many other who seem to pick any ball and score easily. WHile 5 balls should work for a tournament, 3 balls plus a spare ball should work for any league, even if the center is bad or lazy with the oil machine.
Maybe you need a better, more generic set of bowling balls for your league or some coaching.
Bowling can certainly be fun even if you don't shoot 700 every night. I regard some of the fun as being able to overcome certain challenging conditions with balls and/or release changes. EVen if I am not 100% successful, the challenge makes it fun.
Also try some less expensive leagues or get into fewer brackets and pots; that tends to take some pressure off.
Try some practice or stop by on a random night or two at your local or other center and see if some league needs a sub; maybe meeting new people this way will help relax you a little.

Been there, had this problem. I took 6 months off. Came back, and im better then new!(modivation wise
) Dont worry about league, i dont bowl one. That was the problem for me. I just need to bowl when ever i feel like it, not every week same time same day. Take your time off, but come back, you wont regret it!
good luck and high scoring

Everybody is giving great advice hear. It seems you enjoyed at one time. Only you know what is best? If you need time away, take it. I know from my personal experience time away was good for me. When I returned, I enjoyed bowling even more.

Well guys, all the advice was great, thought no one would care and just bad mouth me, but I think taking time off will be the only cure to my solution. When I am ready to go back, I will take lessons from a true pro, and learn bowling all over again.
I do have some great stuff in my bag and closet, older stuff, just dont like any of the new stuff.
This is also sick to me is that we have a guy who has a 250 average, bowled 42 as of today, and just wacking them. Just plain unthinkable. Put him on a sport shot, averages 190.

Y S I think thats a great idea.
I was getting a little disheartned until i began having coaching.
It was then that I found out how much there is to this game. So much to learn and so many challenges. In a way I feel sorry for the guys who can just come bowl shoot 220+ on a wall and go home.
In my eyes they are missing out on a fascinating sport. When you are working at it, the game gives you so much as a reward.
I hope the break and the coaching rekindle your love for the sport.
