Good Afternoon Forum,
I am a bit lost for my passion for bowling, it is something that I have loved for a long time. I haven't been bowling these last 3 weeks as I couldn't take the pain that I endure. The pain I get is on my slide foot (left), now this injury isnt from bowling. I was hit on my motorcycle 3 years ago and did PT and normal activity I have no issues. When I bowl league it puts a constant stress on my knee, and then I cant be consistent for bowling. I also struggle with my elbow popping and thumb cracking ( not when bowling). I have the proper fit for my equipment and get that regular checked, I just have a broken body at the age of 31. I also have other injuries over the years but who hasnt.
Now that you have a little background I have a few ideas as what I should do, but need some guidance. When I first started bowling with a house ball, I learned to bowl thumbless so I have some practice with that but its been many years. I was thinking of going back to thumbless, and making it a two handed approach. I would think that this would take some of the pressure off of my arm and be balance between the two. What about dropping in weight from a 14lb -15lb? I am a bit lost on what to do with my slide foot, I already use the max slide of 10 patch. I know this part is hard to critique without any video. I was thinking of maybe switching to lefty, but I have also had surgery twice on my right knee. I would hate to invest all this time and then hurt my right knee.
Sorry for the long post, I am a passionate bowler who is lost on how to continue with his passion.
