Wilson Pro Staff Bowling Ball
« on: January 20, 2013, 12:00:57 AM »
I got one of these off of craigslist a few months ago NIB. Drilled it and it's unbelievably good. I was just wondering if anybody could give me some info on them. I know there's a green one and a red one. I have the red one. Also if anyone has any they want to sell (or donate.....) I'm definitely interested.

Curtis- there isn't a lot of info out there but this may help you out:

Green one: http://123bowl.com/ball.cfm?ballid=373

Red one: http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/Wilson/3698/Pro-Staff-II-Red-Reactive.html?SSAID=9513

Apparently Wilson made these balls back in the early 1990's and it is rumored that either Faball or Columbia 300 had poured these.  I'm not able to confirm either of these as fact though.  But, they used the popular light bulb core that was found in many of the early reactive balls of that time (Brunswick Rhino Pro was huge with those back then).  Typically these would have been used on medium conditions.

Thanks for the info! I wish there was more known about these balls, it just works so well for me. I've also heard a rumor that there's a black one they made, but I can't find anything about it.

I tried to find something on it myself.  Also went to Bowl.com to see if it was listed on the approved.  It wasn't on there.

yeah, from what I understand they're "grandfathered" into being approved or something because they were made by faball or columbia.

that's what I've read. I've thrown it in tons of tournaments too and never had any problems.

If they were made before 1991 it's a non-issue.  From what I've gathered, they were made by Master Industries.
