Title: Luster king vs. regular polishing
Post by: tvphotog on January 13, 2008, 11:42:32 AM
My brother seems to have the only bowling alley left with a luster king in it. He polishes his Doom in it and he says it out hooks his Track Delta 1. I told him that was impossible. Does the luster king put some tacky resin polish on the ball that makes it grab the lane. I told him he should give it to a pro shop to polidh it correctly.

Wax is about the only thing I've seen a lustre king do. Mirror like finish.

It shouldn't make the ball hook more than it should, should it?

Some centers use a better compound in their machines, but I still think it's a wax based compound.

I'll leave these machines for spare balls only...

J Mac is right, spare balls only. It shouldn't make a ball hook early at all, go very long if anything.

It also clogs the pores quite well...

The Doom is for lighter oil and the Delta is for heavier oil. If he's bowling on lighter oil or if the Delta is oil clogged, of course the Doom will hook much more.

A polished pearl ball will generally go longer than a dull, solid ball. The Dull solid ball needs lots of oil to retain energy for hooking and hitting. On heavier oil, the Doom will skid 65 feet, while the Delta will skid, then hook.
