The last two seasons since I've been back to bowling (after missing time due to two surgeries) have been about as bad as I've ever bowled. One of the problems for me was "knuckling" the ball in my thumb hole. I decided to get a hold of some that Magic Carpet that I've seen people talk about on here.
My first reaction after putting some into two of my balls was, "whoa that thumb hole is TIGHT with this stuff in here" . Nevertheless I figured I'd try it out anyway. I gotta say, after getting past the "too tight" hangup, I bowed GREAT with this stuff! It made a huge difference in the consistency of my release. i ended up bowling about 8 games of practice with it, and threw the ball very well after the first two games. Other than having a little minor thumb irritation afterwards, I must say I was pleased with this stuff. It definitely lives up to the hype!

I second that. I never went through any period of irritation but it such a simple yet great little invention.

Well, Ron says it takes a few games to break in. I had the same irritation but it went away after 6-10 games.

did you open up the back of the thumbhole a touch?
REgards,

PS most people say it is like 3 pieces of tape in back.

Open the door...see what's possible...and just walk right on through...that's how easy success feels..

Yeah, but really JUST a touch...I didn't want to get into the game of opening it up, then adding and taking away tape ad nauseum. Right now, I think it's pretty good the way it is, once I got used to having the thumb be that snug...
