magic carpet

Anyone who uses ron c's magic carpet? what are your comments about the product? my problem is my ball sometimes wont come out, sometimes it would, so i guess i probably sqeeze my thumb on some shots. Im really putting a lot of hope on this product to help solve my problem. thanks.

It works for some people and not for others. As for me, it works good on a long span, but not as good on a shorter span with forward pitches on thumb and fingers.

I use them religiously because my thumb expands and contracts a lot, and since the carpet is soft and compresses, I don't need to keep adding and subtracting as much tape in the front of the thumbhole.  I've also grown used to the cushion it provides.

I just placed another order for a bunch of them.  If you are having trouble with them being too tight, you can trim the sides down or open up the back of the thumb hole.  

I usually cut 5 of them down into thirds, gives me a perfect fit with my drilling, gives me a great feel from ball to ball, no squeezing, get the same release every time.

When you order them from Ron, he gives you a set of 10, they last forever.

Prior to the magic carpets, I used thumb pillows.  Those things wouldn't last two weeks before they tore apart on me.  Got expensive when they cost $5 a piece.

I still need to try them out, because my thumb does the same thing as debs says hers does.  I'm not sure if my left thumb will do the same as my right actually, but I'm having trouble with my thumb sticking because of the suction.  That black tape is supposed to be slick, but it's tackier than the white stuff is.

I use Rons stuff.

I have bought over 100 pieces of the stuff with all the balls I have tested with the Elixer.

I have 1/2 forward pitch and that isn't a problem either.

I use less other tape now.

Rookie, have you had your span and thumbhole checked recently?

The Magic Carpets work great for me.  I dont have to keep adding/removing tape as much as I used to (my thumb is always changing size).  And as stated earlier, they last longer than some other products I have tried, so the price is right.

SrKegler -- I've been using the Thumbillow for about six months now, in all my balls, and haven't worn one out yet.  Do you knuckle your thumb a lot?  --  JohnP

when i put the magic carpet, how tight should my thumb feel? ive been putting tape on and off for quite some time now, and now i really cant tell what tight or what loose feels like. my magic carpet is on its way, cant wait to try it out. thanks.

U should be able to feel every part of your thumb touching the hole. The thumb will be tight enough for it not to slip but still allow the ball to come cleanly off your hand.
