Pitch in the fingers?
« on: July 28, 2004, 07:59:32 AM »
I really can't find a finger insert that I'm set on using, so I am get some of my equipment plug and just going to use stright ball. My question is since I've used power lift and they have some angle to them, should I pitch the new holes?

I would go with forward pitch in the area of 1/4" to 3/8" and use oval finger inserts. You can use what ever brand of insert you like. I prefer Turbo Quads, while others like Vise or Contour, or etc.

It's my understanding that pitched finger inserts like power ovals, soft-t's, etc. have a built in 1/4" of forward pitch in them.  But depending on how your driller has been pitching the finger holes to begin with you final pitch may have been different.  I would talk with him before he does anything...might even want to re-look at your flexibility to determine if an adjustment is needed as I don't know the last time you were looked at?

I also couldn't get comfortable using grips.
I decided to mill my own finger holes similar to an oval thumb.
It may take a couple of evperimental drillings, but once you get it right there's nothing like it.

Just my 2 cents.....
