Not the same company; however, Track pays Columbia to manufacture their bowling line according to their own specs, from what I understand.

You are joking, right??

Dyno-Thane iS NOT owned by Storm. It is independently owned and operated by Phil Cardinale. DT pays Storm to manufacture their balls using DT's own coverstocks and DT's own cores.

Charlest is indeed correct; however, I am sorry to say that you are not.

Seems to me that the issues of ownership were covered in the bankruptcy thread...I'm too lazy to dredge it up.  

For those interested, the BK proceeding continues to pend in court, and the ownership issues are admittedly muddled by the fact that Columbia is the largest creditor listed in the filing.

Track may legally be a "separate" legal entity still, although I am very much uncertain of its exact status.  But its property, its stock, its trade names are all owned by Columbia.  Dynothane is none of those things.  Look at it this way: Track is line a brand line, it probably has its own brand manager.  But it is managed and under the control of the owner and producer of the brand, Columbia.  Its officers or managers serve at the discretion of Columbia managment.  If they don't like what Track is doing...it doesn't do it.  This is not unusual in corporate life, but it is not really an independent company.

Dynothane is an independent company with a manufacturing agreement.  It is not owned or controlled, nor can its president be fired by the guys at Storm. If they screw up, Storm loses nothing except the manufacturing agreement.
