HELP PLEASE: What's this in my thumb hole?
« on: December 01, 2008, 09:47:18 AM »
I was poking around in there to get a bit of dirt out and felt this little dip along the side.

Pic Here

None of my other 3 balls have that. Is this a defect or damage of some kind? Thanks for the input.

I can't tell for sure from the picture, but it looks like an air bubble. When we find one in a ball we use a thumb insert so it's smooth. This is somewhat common, so don't worry. Easily fixed.

could be a chunk from drilling the hole too fast with a dull bit, that can just rip a chunk out of the inside of the hole. but like notclay said, easily fixed with a slug or insert.

Like they said, looks like a small chunk or air bubble.  Looks like that is also drilled into the core - not uncommon for the edge of the core/filler to have small gaps or air bubbles.  I don't think you have to worry about any core separation, but you could fix it with a slug/insert if it bothers you.
