question
« on: July 18, 2004, 01:37:07 AM »
I noticed a new ball floating around the alley racks. Its red, but clear, tinted red. It looks exactly like the old Ebonite Gem Stone Red, except with out the core. Its just a red piece of clear plastic. Anyone know what it is???

The only clear plastic balls I have seen were here in town in a showcase of a center.  Story is that they were shipped in crates along with some Japanese pinsetters to the states.  They have a puck weight block between the finger holes and thumb hole I believe.  There is some Japanese writting on them to support the story as well.

I'll get a picture, its cool as heck. I want it! Like I said though, its completely clear, no weightblock or anything. It has "marbel 2" engraved on it.

A woman brought one(like J Mac mentioned) into Galaxy Bowl last season. Pretty cool to see. Anyway, the ball had a hair-line crack, inside, around the finger holes. As she bowled, we watched the crack spread throughout the ball. Got so bad that she stopped using it cause she thought it would break apart. Now THAT was cool. We all got a good laugh out of it!
