major problem with my game
« on: October 14, 2004, 10:44:28 AM »
Right now I am going through the big slump of my life, its been causing bad habits that I know what I am doing wrong but I am having problems stopping them.  Latley I have been having a timeing issue, causing me to be even later than what I usually am, which was making me less smooth and ended up hitting up on the ball.  Well I have got my timing back but I am still having a problem being late on my release adding revs and not being as smooth.  My usual release, I get a good amount of revs and u cannot hear the ball being set down, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas other that having someone or a coach help, no extra money and  the people I bowl with think they can help but they really can't(long story).  The only person I trust to help is my mother but she can't even help me right now so I am up for any suggestions, if you are wondering bout my starts and style, cranker, med to fast speed, high revs, can release several ways, most comfortable 45 degrees, and people say I look like a leftie version of jim tomek jr., thank ahead of time

Well when my shot is over and I am sitting or going back up I think about a few things, first I think if i need to make an adjustment, like if I left a 7 i wonder why I did, if the ball was to angular, not enough pop, that kind of stuff.  Next I just go back and relax and think about my next shot, visualize my next ball, where it revs up at, where it snaps and so forth, then I just sit back and relax and try to have  good time still, I have had to many nights of being negative so I changed that.  The last thing I do before I pick up my ball is say K I S S, keep it simple stupid, and I bowl and it all happens over again.
ABout asking someone to help, I have no problem asking for help, in fact if I usually ask someone I bowl that I trust will help, be that is few and far between.
Then about the camera thing I did that, thats how I got my timing back , but I am still hitting up on the ball when I don;t need to.  Thanks for your help so far
