Title: making adjustments...126 to a 300
Post by: pgable on February 22, 2008, 08:21:10 AM
I'm still trying to figure this one out...

Weds. night in my league I couldn't find the pocket to save my life.  It seemed like I was just a bit off during shadow ball, and once the first game started things got worse.  Bottom line: 4 splits, two missed 10-pins and a regrettable 126.  I tried a couple of different lines, releases, balls, etc...just couldn't find it.

At the end of the 1st game, I just decided to simplify a little with my line and my release (flattened it out a little and slowed down), left a 10-pin in the 10th, made it and then struck.  I didn't think much about it, but I guess I found my shot.  Next game...300.  I felt dumbstruck after that first game, and to polish it off...first 9 in the 3rd game, making it 22 in a row (277).

So, got my 700 series...126-300-277.  Anyone else ever run into that sort of change in your game?

  Okay, how about this one?

Wednesday night I open with a 9-, then proceed to X thru the 9th frame. I get up in the 10th and throw a X on the wrong lane. So, move over and throw three more for a 279. But, with the extra X I threw on the wrong lane I actually threw 12 strikes in a row in one game. No 300. Best part? I was so pissed I ended with a 598.

I bowled with a kid in juniors who went 144-158-300=602. He never moved his feet or anything, he just went from missing his mark every single shot to puring 12 in a row. Every shot that last game was hammered. It was pretty funny, and we definitely made it a point to ask him what he shot for a set every time he brought up his perfecto.

140-250-140-200.
I was still in juniors.
The funniest part - I was voted bowler of the month for the whole valley for the 250.
