Making the 7-10
« on: December 11, 2003, 12:29:47 AM »
I was just curious who here has made a 7-10, and how you did it.  I left the 7-10 last week during bowling, threw my spare ball as hard as I could at the outside of the 7 and managed to kick it all the way across behind the 10, and the 10 wiggled for me.  Thats about as close as I have come recently.  Just curious if there is anything anyone else does?

Picked up my first and only 7-10 during practice.

Set up, and threw pretty hard at the 10, it kicked out of the back and knocked the 7 pin forward.

Came close to picking it up in league, but the 10 kicked out in FRONT of the 7 and rolled right in front of it into the left gutter.

Had a buddy pick it up about a month ago.  Don't remember which side he was on, but he shot at the 10 and kicked it out.  I'd have picked it up last night if I'd have had a 7 . . .

A friend of mine actually picked it up in league last night.  He just flung the ball at the 10 and hit it light on the right side, it kicked over near the 7 and somehow the 7 tipped forward.  I never actually saw the 10pin hit the 7 but it went down.

I have actually picked it up 3 times, twice in practice, and once during league.  The first time, was in league back in 1995 using a Critical Mass in a military league in S.C.  The other 2 times, was with a 10 pound house ball and a Purple Beast, both during practice.  All 3 times, I shot at the 10 pin as hard as I could throw it and was fortunate to bounce the 10 over to the 7.  I hit the 10 pin on the inside part of the pin, not the part of the 10 facing the gutter.  I sent the 10 into the back corner of the pit (heard that was the easiest way to do if there is an easy way of making it).  The 10 bounced back onto the deck and rolled into the 7.  I do not know what is more exciting....making it myself or seeing someone else make it.

I have picked it up about 5 times. I normally shoot for the ten pin but I sling it about 25+ mph as staight as I can with hardly any revs and hope like heck it kicks off of something.

After bowling for 35 years, I finally
converted a 7-10 about 6 weeks ago.In
a tournament no less.
10 pin kicked out of the pit and took
out the 7.UNLUCKY for me, it was a
6-7-10 LEAVE!!!
The more I practice,the luckier I get.

ive picked it up once while i was subbing in a league, threw it hard at the 10, pin bounced and kinda just grinded on the lane like a skateboard on the sidewalk, slid all the way across and it just tipped the 7 over

a few weeks ago in my league, the guy on my team leaves the 7 10, i say hey pick it up, stuff CAN bounce easy here, sure enough, and he even hit it weird, he hit the right side of the 10 pin, usually you have to pin the 10 pin or whatever pin you hit in the corner, then a couple games later a guy leaves the big 4 and hits the right of the 10 pin and takes off the 7 10 clean, with the 4 6 never wiggling or being touched at all

What would life be like without Columbia and Brunswick?
And Then...........

I left another 10 pin

One time many years ago .. hit the 7 pin and it bounced out of the pit and rolled over and down goes the 10 pin. Still have my PATCH and BELT BUCKLE given by a CHAIN SAW company!

I've made it 3 times, over a 1.5 year period.  Not in the 20+ years before, not in the 2-3 years since.  Shot the 10 and bounced it off the back each time.

Ive come close a few times but have never picked it up..I have bounced it out of the back had it roll across the deck and fall right before the ten..Then ive also had it hit off the side wall slide across the back of the deck and the head of the pin hit the 10 but the head of the pin was strong enough..I would have picked it up once if i had the 10 pin up but i had just the 7..I threw my strike ball like 20 mph and it hit out bounced off the back hit the side and came right across where the 10 was but there was no ten so i had nothin to hit..I think that was about the only time i wish i had left the 7-10..lol

I picked up my only 7-10 split on my Wednesday Junior league. I just tried getting the seven pin but i got lucky and the 7 pin kicked backed and rolled across the deck and lightly took out the 10 pin.
