Manufacturer owners presence
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:40:12 PM »
Barb and Bill Chrisman. We see the Storm owners actively involved and giving face time to tournaments and events. Their names are recognized. Now I appreciate many manufacturers products but I do ask the question, where's the other companies owners and their face time?

I'm looking to pick up some EBI equipment soon and I got to thinking while watching Barb and Bill stand on the lanes for Junior Gold, who and where are the EBI owners? Maybe I'm just missing them, Motivs owners, Brunswicks owners, etc.

I've figured since 2008 ( the cell ) those particular competitor owners have got to be scrambling to make a better product...there in the RD or something

Perhaps they are owned by a parent corporation, or by stockholders...

Don't know for sure, but I think it's a good guess that EBI and Brunswick are not privately owned.  Yet, there has to be somebody at the top (Chairman/President) that could be the face representing their respective companies at tournaments/championship matches on TV; etc..
However, I do believe Motiv is privately owned, so the Wilburs could be out front like the Chrismans. I think some of the Wilbur clan has attended past events, but not with consistency.
I remember years ago, you always saw Faball's Johnny Wonder and Dennis Baldwin in the front row at TV matches, much like you see the Chrismans today.

If what I am hearing is correct, then EBI will be the sponsors for Jr Gold next couple of years with the option to go thru 2020.

Perhaps they are owned by a parent corporation, or by stockholders...

Nonetheless, there should be someone giving the company a face.

Why though? As long as they make a good, honest product why do they need a face? I'm fine letting the product be the face in the bowling world

They all seem to have company reps there. I know there is one local idiot who is a Vise rep that somehow gets his big fat head in the TV shot at every event at some point. Then when he see's the camera pointing in his direction, you can see him look at his phone so he can watch himself on TV.

Okay, okay, so I don't like the guy, rant over.  :o ::) ;D

Just helps give bowlers that warm fuzzy feeling about the company when you're faced with such a close tough market of product.

Personally, a face doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. Ball reaction makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I agree. Seeing the owner of the company at events doesn't mean that their product is the best choice in your decision making

It is cool to see the owners tho.  They show up to telecasts, represent the brands themselves.

Cmon now

Its OK if they show up, but its not the be all-end all either. Some people don't care to be in the spotlight..

Yes its sad how many bowling owners do not care. It is why league bowling continues the drop.
A rare bowler who only sticks with one
brand and model! If its working why change!?
