Title: Mark Roth vs. Earl Anthony
Post by: 10pin2002 on December 01, 2003, 07:23:09 AM
This is really the epitome of any and all matchups you can think of.  Righty vs. Lefty; Cranker vs. Stroker; Textbook vs. "Don't EVER let your kid learn how to do this or he'll break his thumb!"

1)  Who would you root for (yes, both IS an acceptable answer);
2)  Who would you bet money on, or who do you think would win;
3)  Elaborate.

Have fun with this one guys!  I came around a little late for Earl, but I loved watching Roth!

Ok I hate to say this cause Earl to me is the greatest of all times, but I think part of it is cause my Dad always told me you shouldn't bowl like that Mark Roth he does everything wrong.  I would be rooting for Mark.  Now that many years later I have started to bowl I unfortunately don't find myself moving to the smooth even reaction of earl.  I think we all wish we had a little of Mark in us even though we know being like Earl is better  I think you flip a coin to determine the winner though.  You couldn't get me to bet on this one come heck or highwater.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

Just for the record, I don't think the Lefty Hall of famer great
Dave Davis ever lost to Earl Anthony on TV.  Or if he did it was once.

Either 7-0 or 6-1.

Earl was my favorite but now that I occassionally get to watch the GREAT Dave Davis who is still around and still winning even in his 60s.

A pretty impressive major record both in the regulars and the seniors!

PS A CLASS gentleman also!

One game, Roth.  Three games or more: Anthony.  Root for Anthony.  Why?  Why does one look at a Vermeer?

Does anyone know what the stats were for match play/show matches for when the two were competing against each other?
