Marvel Pearl vs Melee Jab
« on: November 15, 2015, 09:22:11 PM »
Was wondering if anyone had the luxury of throwing both the Storm Marvel Pearl and Brunswick Melee Jab? Was wondering how they compared or if they are similar, given that they are both pearls with similar RG and RG diff numbers.

I too am looking for a replacement for my treasured Marvel Pearl...read from another thread (2handedrook/Gene Kanak) that the Melee Jab could be a potential replacement and hoping to reach out to more bowlers if "Melee Jab" was in the thread title.

Also considered an Optimus with a weaker drilling (1/4" to 1/2" longer pin-to-PAP and a P1 hole) compared to my Marvel Pearl. Wanted to try a new ball without spending $200-$220 on a NIB Marvel Pearl nor hunting down a good used one.

My marvel pearl was a bit earlier than my melee jab. Similar smooth moves. I really liked the MP but love my Jab

Personally, I think the Respect Pearl is really similar  (especially if you go with a higher VAL angle and mayble a slightly stronger pin position. The Melee Jab is a great ball as well and I don't think you can go wrong with it.

If you are looking for another Marvel Pearl, I have one for sale. It does have a hairline crack near the fingers as well as a cracked beidge, but they could be plugged without a problem. Looking for 50 plus shipping. The cover is in good shape. I just can't strike with the thing lol.
