Maryland state champions!

It is "unofficially" official, we are the champions! Woohoo!! My team won the Maryland state tournament!

Team - 1st place (handicap), 3rd (scratch)
All Events - 3rd (scratch), 6th (handicap)
Singles - 14th (scratch)
Doubles - 22rd (scratch)

This is the first time I have ever won a "big" tournament and I am so pumped! The weekend we bowled was the weekend that all the "big guns" bowled (same squads as Danny Wiseman and most of the better regional and amateur bowlers in Maryland), so I was very hopeful that our scores would hold up and they did!!

Paul, That is awesome dude. Congratulations! I gotta get down that way sometime soon. Who runs the proshop down in Greenmount these days?

Hey nb,

How's it going?  The Greenmount pro shop is being run by Norman Anderson, who used to work for Mark.  He is doing a great job with my equipment and has a nice little pro shop setup down there.

Norman was running some end of year sales on a lot of his in-stock balls (mostly Hammer, Brunswick and Ebonite).  I am not sure what he has now, but I know that he will give you a really good price if he has it in the shop. Our team was:  Rick Johnson, Mike Stevens, Tom Haifley, Guy Johnson, and me.  Guy bowled scratch, me and Rick got minimal handicap, and Mike and Tom made up our most of our handicap as they both have mid-180 averages.  It was a good mix as it turned out.

Congratulations Paul.  Good to see someone other than those "vastly improved teams from the Eastern Shore" win.  I see it wasn't a low scoring event (LOL).

Thanks Bill!  It was a carry contest, the scores were very high this year.  I have heard stories about these "vastly improved" teams and I can tell you that we were not one of them.
