DV8 Vandal Compared to Roto Totally Defiant
« on: August 19, 2015, 09:45:09 AM »
Hey guys,

I hope you're all enjoying a nice summer.

I'm getting a new piece as part of my summer league - a DV8 Vandal.  I know almost nothing about this ball other than the data found on DV8's website, and a few video reviews I watched.  I was wondering if anybody out there could answer any/all of my questions:

  • What's the reaction shape like? Seems long & arc-y in the video reviews.
  • If all things were created equally, how does it compare to a RG Totally Defiant? (The TD is my favoritest ball of ever.)

Just so you guys have some reference about me as a bowler, here's a video of my team squad at Nationals this year - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAYE_lsKp3M.  I'm the guy with the glasses & bionic arm. I start using the TD around the 7:35 mark.

The DV8 Vandal has a strong arcing type of motion with more continuation downlane. If the 2 balls were drilled the same, I would think that the Vandal would go a about 2 feet longer and snap harder off the friction. The Vandal is a very versatile ball, and works on many different oil conditions.
