I know this has been discussed many times but doing a search I could not find an appropriate answer.
If one sees enough oil lines on a ball to clearly see where the lines cross (the center of the "Bow Tie") does that crossing point indicate the NAP? If so, then one could look exactly 180 degrees around the ball and mark the PAP.
Is this correct? If so, that would be a good starting place to put the tape to watch it move and subsequently adjust it for a precise PAP measurement.
Or have I got it all wrong?
