Have had good luck with the Chery Vibe and the Roto Grip Illusion. The track 505C is sweet too if you want a more angular look.

IMHO, anything with a PK18 coverstock from Brunswick and derivates under other brands fits this bill. That said, the core might have major impact, since you get PK18 balls with relatively weak cores (Avalanches) up to low RG pieces (Copperhead) and even wild, asymmetrical high end cores (Awesome Finish, Solid LevRG). The surface can be tweaked easily, it is very durable material, and reacts less itchy to friction than more modern shell material.

Can't forget about storm's famous accu-tread cover stock. The solid version was pretty good when at a slight matte.

Roto Grips Illusion/Grand Illusion and the Nomads or Global/AMFs Maniac, Lunatic and Clutch even though I hear there aggressive OOB, with a fresh 4k pad my Lunatic is perfect for mid range conditions.

Only throw the good stuff, Roto/Global.
