Mega Friction vs Virtual Gravity vs Special Agent
« on: April 23, 2009, 08:48:06 AM »
Which would be better for heavy oil? My Virtual Gravity drilled 4 1/4" pin to PAP pin above ring finger and MB 5" from PAP at 2000 abralon is weaker than my Attitude Shift at 4" pin to PAP pin under ring finger, MB 5.5" from PAP at 2000 abralon. I have a Special Agent coming that is 4" pin to PAP, pin under ring finger that I might try at 1000 abralon for the heavy stuff. Would a Mega Friction at 4 3/4" from PAP, pin above bridge and centered at 1000 abralon be weaker than any of the ones I have mentioned? I know it's a weaker drill than the others, but don't know how strong this ball is. Thanks.

I have all three and the Virtual Gravity is the better of the three, imo.  I have a Virtual Gravity and Mega Friction both drilled very similar and the carry is tremendously better with the VG then the Mega Friction. I can play similar lines with both bowling balls and the Mega Friction seems to crush the pocket and leave way too many 10 pins whereas the carry with the VG is tremendous.  I think in box, they over-hyped the Mega Friction as a heavy oiler, but I did not adjust the surface. My Special Agent handles a fair amount of oil but its not drilled strong.  Its very smooth and continous but when I have the chance to play in oil, I'd much rather throw the VG.

I have a VG and Special Agent, and I feel they complement each other very well.  My VG is drilled pin above fingers, while my SA has the pin drilled out by the ring finger.

I find that the VG can handle more oil, especially if you rough up the surface to 2000 or 1000 abralon.  The SA is a much soomther reaction.

At Nationals this year, when the shot was fresh, the SA was the better ball for me, but the VG allowed me to open up the lanes during singles and doubles.

I have not thrown the MF.
