Hey everybody,
I am currently reading a tennis mental game book that was recommended by a friend of mine. It is called The Mental Advantage: Developing your Psychological Skills in Tennis by Robert S. Weinberg, PhD.
I just started to read the introductions, and the introductions have already been helping me with the psychological outlook on sports in general (even though it's a tennis book, you can apply it to bowling or any other sport that requires a precise physical game with a good mental game, too).
Weinberg mentioned something about mental game drills. Something I have never thought of. Before I go on and continue reading, do any of you do mental game drills or do you just practice your phyical game when you're on the lanes practicing? When I think about it... I'd honestly say no, and I will be the first to admit my mental game isn't all that great. Lots of things go floating into my mind, and so far in reading 20-30 pages out of the 200, It's been helping in the past week.
After this, I will be doing some mental game drills. I will prescribe myself some kind of mental game drill when i am on the lanes for practice.
I am curious, out of those who actually make mental game drills, what do you personally do? I really can't copy a mental game drill because all of our minds, backgrounds, and physical games are unique. I was just curious what you guys would do in a mental game drill.
