What you can do is:

make you favorite sites into links to the sites, that would be nice.

Have you got an art package you can use(not paint),
cus you could fade the images round the edge to blue(the background colour) the make the change a bit less sharp/contrasting,

Its good that you have not added stuff that follows the mouse and tacky music..
