mental game helpers

has anybody here tried out stuff like
'Zen Bowling, the Psychology of Better Bowling'
or other mental game helper thingys?

are they any good?

Honestly, this might sound weird or cocky or whatever. When I get up to bowl, as I am wiping my ball off, I tell my self "I am the best, there is no one in this house better then me, I am going to throw a strike." I tell myself stuff like this. I tried this for the first last week and I shot 772. I have never broken 700 before. I don't know if that helped me at all but I can tell you I'll be doing it tomorrow night... LOL

I tend to focus better when there are more distractions, I.E. music in the background and what not. I'm weird like that.
