Title: Metholated spirits-- is it safe to use to clean

A laneman looked at my ball, and told me not to buy any products from his employer (AMF). He then added they are complete waste of money, simply use metho on your balls, and the results are awesome.

Well, I will always listen for any advice, yet, I feel a little apprehensive re metho. Can anybody help me out here, and also does it have an effect on your lifespan or condition of your ball long term??

Not sure what that is but if it is related to mineral spirits, it is on the Disapproved List.  Here is a link to what is approved and not:
