Well, my Thursday house has gone and done it. They put out their "Please come back and bowl next year" shot. For those of you who do not know what this shot is, it is a minor variation of the house shot on which even the more inexperienced bowlers can average 10-20 pins higher than they have all year. Basically it's the house's way of saying, "hey, forget about the pitiful, horrible crap we've been putting down for 20 consecutive weeks. We've changed!"
They get you averaging 200+ when you've been averaging 180 all year and make you want to come back next year. During this time last year I averaged 229 with a low series of 636 and a high of 796. Last night guys were shooting 700 like it was normal, with one very talented bowler putting together a 760. I personally posted a 662.
I have mixed feelings about this time of year. What does the BR fellowship say? Does your house put out the "please come back next year you're bowling so well" shot or do they allow you to grind it out all year for a true average?

NutIf horse racing is the sport of kings, then surely bowling is a very good sport as well.
