Magic Carpet Ride....
« on: February 20, 2009, 08:52:56 PM »
Thank you Ron Clifton.

I'm not sure what alien technology you happened across to create the Magic Carpet, but I will say that I am a believer in your product.

I got it in the mail this morning, installed it and went to league.  Using my Wild Ride, the ball was so clean off my hands that I couldn't hear it hit the lane.  Even before the MC is actually broken in a bit, it gave me a clean release each and every time.

I shot 243, 245, 220.    I may have shot higher the last game but the opposing team kept filling my mug with PBR.

I don't think I'll ever NOT use it.

The Magic Carpet also helped relieve the pain in my fingers.  I my grip on the ball is so loose and free now.

It makes me wonder how Mr. Clinton came up with this stuff...

Some MIB type stuff.

I personally like Magic Carpet, but I can honestly say it doesn't like me.  As people have said time and time again, it absolutely gives a clean release and helps you know what a snug thumbhole feels like.

On the flip side, even if I wear thumb protection tape, the back of my thumb still looks like I got a little close to a bench grinder.  I like the product, and I like Ron, but I've had to give it up in search for another solution.
The Gathering 2014 is near.  July 25-27 in Winston Salem, NC @ Creekside lanes.

when i first started using it i got some grind, but i also moved my thumb pitch 3/4 of an inch, and bowled like 8-12 games every other day

they, when drilling, have to allow room for the carpet on the initial punch
otherwise it will be too tight

It did give me a little burn on the back of my thumb.  But it was a small trade off for a clean(er) release.

Unless your thumb hole is too tight, the problem is that you're knuckling your thumb.  Keep it straight in the hole and it will go away.  --  JohnP

but the tip of your thumbnail into the carpet, and leave it there.
let go @ the bottom

this not my opinion, this comes from the man himself
