Waiting for their LINE
« on: February 09, 2009, 06:55:51 AM »
I played a team earlier this year where their anchor man on their team played the same line the entire night (And it was 2nd arrow). He did pretty good against us and is 2nd high average in league. Well we have played beside this team through out the year. Noticed he has been playing 2nd arrow (Doesn't Move at all).

Well we played this team again. So I thought I would try something during practice. I threw a plastic ball down to the right of his line. That's all I did for every shot except my last two (I actually lined up for my shot).

This guy struggled his first game. Really had some problems....his ball wasn't finishing like it normally did. He tried to play left of his target and things got worse for him. So he went back to 2nd arrow and finally by the end of the 2nd game he burned his hole in the lane.

His teammate even said something like "Now there is Mr. Automatic!".

Guess what? You just discovered the only "defense" in bowling!

WRW contours lane patterns to fit his shot on a regular basis, throwing a sponge to burn a hole in a pattern....giving himself a little area!

Duct tape is like 'The Force'. It has a light side and a dark side, but it still holds the universe together.

Some days you're the bug some days you're the windshield.
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

I wish I could do that.  I think I run into this phenomenon once maybe twice a year.  The other times I have to move 4-8 boards throughout the nite.
If I could play the same line the entire night, I'd be high average on my league.... well unless Necromancer bowled on that league. lol
