Just wondering if anybody on this site is in the military, and where you are all stationed. I think this would be cool to find other bowlers who are also in the military besides myself.

Greetings!!

Air Force Type Bowler.....stationed at Holloman AFB, NM....have been stationed throughout the states and Europe..currently deployed to the middle east....

Some Military bowling tourney stuff..

US Air Forces Europe All Events Champ 2000 (221 for 16 games at Ramstein AFB, Germany).......went to the AF Camp that year at Tinker and placed 9th out of 25 or so..horrible first day on a silly easy shot killed me...

Won Team All-Events and Doubles at Vegas in 2000.  Got to parade that huge trophy around and such....very cool.....have a bunch of top 10's and hope to continue that trend...

Hopefully will be at the AF Camp this year in Vegas over new year's if you can believe that............and will be at Vegas in Feb.  Always a blast and a chance to meet up with old friends and such.....

When we won the Vegas tourney we were called the Peterson 3+3.......not sure what we will be called this year....but have a great group.....and a cute redhead Thunderbird woman on our team.....so if you see her there....I am close by....oh yeah.....I am Mike Louridas....feel free to stop by and say hi in Vegas!! Will be keeping an eye out!!

Magicman: I was there during that time also. I was in HHB 3rd BN, 4th ADAR, 82nd ABN. I lived just outside of Reaford and you're right, Spring Lake was a hole.

I use my LRG allot. The HRG (for me) needs some dry area to work. I think my speed + lower revs cause it to skid past the breakpoint. On the other hand, my Too Hot has been the "hot" ball for me so far. I have been averaging around 230+ whenever I take it out of the bag.

The LRG reads the mid-lane pretty good for me. It has an arc type ball path to the pocket. It only hooks to much whenever I throw it out into the dry area.

pbafire,  check out the KSBO (Kitsap Scratch Bowling Orgaization) for a very good local Bremerton/Kitsap County scratch tourmnament orgaization, been around for 30 years.  I think they hold one tournament a month.  Stop by All-Star Lanes in Silverdale, they should have info there.  Before you ask, I was raised there, my parents still live there, but I'm in Maryland, thanks to the USAF,I was here when I got out after 11 active, the 11 more reserves.

My job(s) when I was younger (lower enlisted) was repair parts, supply, property book NCOIC, etc. Then a platoon sergeant and lastly a First Sergeant (E-8).

Was a Master-Paratrooper (300+ jumps), Air Assault, Pathfinder, & Combat Medic..

Units were Airborne Armor, Airborne Infantry,  Field Artillery, Military Intelligence, Air Defense, Heavy Armor, and Division Support.

Combat tours were Grenada, and Desert Storm (Gulf 1).
