Mini Figjam
« on: April 17, 2009, 12:57:22 PM »
I am excited.  I started bowling 2 handed in league 3 weeks ago and hit my first 700, 710, w/ 5 opens and a 279 game. I am working on it to get ready for next year.

So nothing fabulous, just a mile stone in my new way of bowling.

High game 300, 298(no middle finger) 290, 290(no middle finger)
High series 804
High triplicate 774
High average 221
best game. when I was 6 I bowled a 158

I have a 16# morich awesome finish I want to trade.  1 season on it.    I am looking for 15# stuff

Your messaage about "first 700" doesn't track with the other data you provided?

It's my first 700 2 handed.   I've been a 1 handed bowler my whole life and implemented 2 hands in league 3 weeks ago.

I've had many 1 handed.   Just changing it up and was happy with my improvement   hence a "mini figjam"   b/c I've been there before, but doing it in a whole new way

Congratulations.  That's pretty good for only trying a new style like that for three weeks.

Yes there is! Just started goofin' with it a few months back, and in the past month I've averaged 226 in 50 [or so] games. Now, that is only open bowling, but it's a very good 15-20 pin increase!

Keep practicing with it!

I fooled around with it a few months back, then stopped, then I started it in league 3 weeks ago.  Averaging about 220-225 or so.   I have learned that the harder I try to throw it, the more I pull it, so I just have to let the ball go out.  I started using some new cleaner which gets the ball to go really deep and now I can play 2nd arrow.   It's quite good stuff.  Just USBC approved.

To be honest I've been thinking of trying this method, mainly because my wrist/forearm doesn't seem to be strong enough for me to hang onto the ball without the tendency to squeeze.

Are you saying that you bowled the majority of your league with one hand?  And that for the last 3 weeks or so you are now bowling two-handed?

If so did you establish a new average for the two-handed style?

Assuming your league is certified...if I'm not mistaken you cannot go from one-handed to two-handed in one league without approval from the Board and without establishing a new average.
