This ball was supposed to be a replacement / remake for the original 3D offset. Is the cover the same as the original? It looks like the Vicious Weight Block?

The High Rev targets the look and ball motion of the original 3D Offset. The High Rev does use the original Vicious core and a new reactive coverstock to produce the strong and controllable ball motion. It is best used on medium oil lane conditions. The strength of the High Rev is that it is a good choice for a variety of bowling styles.

Let's invoke the name of a classic on another ball made with off the shelf technology. Old core and I bet it has a reused coverstock as well. This ball bears no relation to the old 3D balls and they shouldn't be marketed that way. What a ripoff!!!!!!

How do you know? You haven't thrown one yet. It could very well react like the old one. Being a hammerhead, I can't wait to try it.

I'm not saying it's a bad ball, but what relation does it have to the old 3D's?
They were asymmetric, and this ball is symmetric. The coverstocks probably aren't related either except for color. They are trying to trick the uneducated bowling public into thinking that this ball is related to faball's old hi-rev. That is simply not the case! The balls are unrelated.

Brian Graham's note makes it sound like a good overall ball, but I have to agree w/ Louie on this too.....there is nothing common about these 2 balls...

I wonder...........Hammer discontinued the Vicious line,..........then re-introduces the Vicious core in a new ball.........why? I personally liked the Vicious line and wondered why they discontinued it. Was it sales? I just hope that Hammer doesnt end up being like some of the other companies that put out so many different balls so often that it just becomes hoohum instead of something to look forward to. 4 out of my 6 balls are Ebonite Hammers (the other 2 are: 1 Faball, 1 Lane #1) and of those 4, 3 are discontinued.
