miscellaneous pba question
« on: February 21, 2009, 01:36:24 PM »
what is the lowest score bowled on a pba tv show that was above 290 but not 300? Everytime i've seen a pro go front 11, its been 299 or 300. Are there any others in between?

I believe it was Bryan Goebel shooting 296 to Norm Duke's 280 in a championship match--1994 True Value Open (found the match on YouTube).

I think Roy's got it.  That was the first one that came to my mind when you asked.

Edit:  It wasn't on TV, but I remember Wes Malott shot 290 the hard way in a match during the week a while back.  Front 11, then fouled on the 12th.  I think it was the week Liz Johnson made the show and Wes fouled several times on TV that day.

Shelley I know back in 2005 at the stop in Birmingham, AL he did that. I was there that day, was not watching but heard about it almost right away. I don't think anybody could believe he did that.

That might've been it.  It was in that 4-5 years ago range.
