Question on Delivery

Maybe someone can help me.  We have a bowler in our league who wants to change his delivery from one hand (right) to a two handed delivery(right hand dominant).  We are in our 6th week of a 22 week season.  I know that the 2 handed delivery is a legal style, my concerns are the convienence factor, IE; how is he supposed to shoot spares, is he allowed to change up deliveries due to weekly lane conditions or opponents he bowling against, or if he decides that he wants to bowl single handed for that night or for half that game.  What is the USBC ruling or your opinions on that.  I need some help.

AFAIK it it does not matter if the player uses a 2-hand or single hand delivery and switches between them.
But: I consider switching style just in the beginning of the season as a dumb move (sorry), because it takes a lot of training to develop a stable 2 hand delivery, beyond revs, revs, revs. I do not think that it will help him (or the team).

As long as he is primarily delivering the ball with his right hand, he's still bowling right handed.  So as far as the USBC would be concerned, what he does with his left hand is not a factor in anything.  

As far as shooting spares and such, I've seen people go to a one handed delivery or stick with the two.

a 2 hand release is really a misnomer.  Very few, if any, 2 handers use their other hand to impart revolutions or direction on a ball.  The second hand is just for control during the backswing and the downswing.  Watch Belmonte or Palermaa in slo-mo, their left hand comes off the ball and goes to their side like any other 1 handed bowler.

It's the same as thumbless 1 hand bowling, just a little more control is given throughout the approach.

Now the question really is, can a person put his thumb in the ball one frame and out the next?

You can change anything you want as long as you stay throwing with the same dominant hand, I throw 2 handed and I can change to 1 handed if I want to and do for shooting 7-10's and the big 4, something I have to bounce a pin up with because I can throw probably 27mph 1 handed where 21 is the max I can 2 handed. But I throw 2 handed at spares just like Belmo does, the use of a spare ball is a big thing. The only difference between him and I is that I use my thumb.
