Strongest pearl on the market...
« on: August 05, 2007, 04:40:03 AM »
What in the members' opinions is the strongest pearl (in terms of gripping the lane where it is dry) on the market today?  Which ball will cover the most boards in the shortest backend?

Ryan,

have you thought about the G Force Evolution from Lane 1 or a Track Exception if you can still get one.

Legends Black Pearl is a beast, seriously worth a look.  Not as common, but a darn good ball.

My Action Packed pretty much stands on the rudder when it sniffs some dry.  Great ball and now they really aren't that expensive either.

Thanks for all the great suggestions... keep 'em coming if there are any more!

Some on the shortlist are another Domination (have one already), Shift, Total NV, NVS, and Fury Pearl…

Justdale, I already have a mystic and for me I prefer this ball highly polished and “mellowed” fo playing the control shot on medium patterns.. I had considered a new one for the long though because it makes a shocking movement on the back end when its new lol

Ryan,

Surprised you haven't tried a Saga. Although it's a solid/pearl combination, it acts more like a pearl due to its polish and core. Mark Curran is using one in our Summer league and is just killing them (shot 960 last night for 4 games with some terrible bad luck). Although it's likely to be a lighter pattern than you will get, I believe the Saga would fit your needs perfectly and keep you in the RG family.

I think that the Morich Ravage, if you can find one, will out hook anything if there is a try board to be found. The Pioneer or Vapor Zone that is drilled to go long and flip is also close to angularity.

Wassup Ryan..

From what i've seen on (the European)tour, yes strong pearls are more common on longer patterns.. And with your hand i can see you having succes with that too..

A couple of years ago i had some succes with an old Power Groove on longer, med volume patterns..

Since you're only looking for pearls, i'd look for..:

Fired Up, if you can find one.. Probably one of the best and most versatile pearls i've seen and thrown..

Shift, does look like it needs a decent amount of oil..

Agent and Domination, simply because Martin Larsen from Sweden has killed with these balls on longer patterns..

Horizon Pearl, one of the strongest reacting balls i've thrown..

Mean Machine - Polished, also one of the strongest balls i've tried.. Just drilled one up about 2 months ago, though i've haven't tried it in a long pattern tournament yet, it works great for me on longer patterns in practice..

Total NV, seen it work for a lot of people..

NVS, looks to be a stronger version of the TNV and maybe what you're looking for.. Check these vids out.. www.bowltowin.dk

Black Pearl - Seems to chew on dry boards and seems capable of handling decent volumes oil..

Just my 2 cents..

Charlest,

I do have a Saga (I have every Roto ball released in the last year or two ), but it didn’t give me quite the look I wanted on this pattern – could be that mine is a little old though!

SKC,

I have the Domination and the Horizon pearl already, and both made a decent move on the back end..

Gona have a look at the NVS video me thinks!

Cheers

Ryan
