Where would you rather bowl?
« on: December 07, 2004, 01:23:27 AM »
50-lane house, 751 high series for the season, 210-215 high average, 0-300's, 299's and 298's this season, 5-10 total 800's in 30 years.  Usually average 1-3 honor socres a year.

--------or--------

32 lane house that unless you shoot 750 you are not in the top ten that night.  270+ is jackpot and usually there are several 300's a night and 800's are a dime a dozen.

Be careful, your answer will reveal your true nature as a bowler.

comeback
Brian
right in a low scoring house is a lot average bowlers
so to be competive I bowl in wallybowl.

my low scoring house has a manager that has never bowled
about 50 + years old and thinks a 600 is a good score.
I said something one time about it.
he said lets bring the fence in to 350 at ballpark.
I said whats that got to do with bowling more homeruns.
I said thats better then a 1-0 boring game
then he got mad.
the laneman can make bowling fun or hard
Not all bowlers are going to average 200 even on a wall
but happy bowlers spend more money.

So why are the happy bowlers quitting year in and year out?

This is a topic that could take some time.  However, despite what the proprietors might like you to believe, the evidence I am seeing is that "repeat" customers are not treated well by proprietors, who prefer "event" and casual customers.   If there is a strategy designed to kill an industry, this is it.

Bowlers who feel like they are being listened to, who have a fair shot (equitable -- fair to everyone) and who are treated well return, even if the shot ain't great.  Bowlers who feel like management doesn't care about them, who see lanes falling into disrepair and poor maintanence, leave.

I agree with Bob Hanson, whichever house I match up to better and have a better chance at, I would bowl. Would you invest in a business venture because it was going to be hard and improve your business in the future? No, you would go with whichever one you felt would be successful.
