whoa wrong night for brackets
« on: March 19, 2010, 12:56:19 AM »
Well last night was the wrong night to get in the brackets.

One of the teams has Tom Daugherty(PBA)on their roster for a sub, his average is 252 on the league.

They bring him in when they need the win and its getting close to the end of the season.

He comes in then proceeds to shoot 264-276-279=819 and cleans house in the brackets. There was just bit of grumbling, everyone had him in the brackets.

Welcome to league bowling.  Happens more than you might realize.  There are teams in just about every league that has their "ringer" that they bring in for nights that are important and once they get the games in, here they come for position rounds and roll offs.  Nothing you can do about it really.

I remember I put my friend in every bracket without him knowing (he averages about 150) and he ended up shooting 600 for the night. I took the money deducted what it cost to get in the brackets and split it with him. I told him beers were on him and handed him the cash =P

One night I bowled 245-243-300 and didn't make a penny in brackets.

I love the randomness of brackets.  Shoot 190 and get through them all, shoot 238 and lose them all.

I was there! J_w73 to the left of me for the 299 and my friend to the right of me for the 300.

Yeah.. actually didn't really care about the perfect game.. just didn't want to lose my bracket.  No ashtray...Already had 2 x 290's earlier in the year.. so it was just another stat on my bowl.com profile.

I tend to bring out the best in everyone. If you want to shoot your highest game or series ever or for the season just bowl against my team.
