Well, it got better. Not perfect, but better. I went to the lanes armed with a homemade felt sole, a sliding sock and a Master Slide Glide sole.
The felt didn't help - I think it would work fine if the glue didn't go thru it and leave hard dry patches.
The sock help, but I still felt a little stick.
The sole was the best, but again I still stuck a bit.
I think part of the problem is that the Dynorooz have a leather strip around the sole insert. I'm going to put felt on that and see if it helps.
The sock may need to be worn a bit before it comes into its own. I intend to give it another go.
By now, part of the problem is, I'm sure, mental. I'm so concerned about not sticking that I think I've become oversensitized.

Grump, the bad thing is I did once have a real felt sole that was great - don't know what happened to it. But, imo, the felt offers the most slide of anything I've tried. I just need to buy another felt sole; I've been putting it off thinking I'd find the one I used to have. I think the Master slide sole would be OK if it weren't for the leather strip around the sole insert.

Rags this is the first step....acknowledging the problem!

What I really don't understand in all this is that I've never had trouble sliding before. In fact, I never used to slide much. I talked w/ the coach of the WSU bowling team last night and he commented that I used to have, maybe, a 4 to 6 inch "slide". I used to, deliberately (due to knee problems) try and not bend my knee much and therefore not slide much. Now I can't feel right unless I actually slide. I think maybe I really need to have someone watch me, maybe film me, and figure out what's going on.

Rags,
Has someone watched you to make sure that you are not heel sliding or as g_thing stated, sliding with your whole foot. Sometimes a bowler can start doing this all of a sudden and think the lanes are sticky when it's their heel that is the problem and not the sole.

Gazoo, nope, no one has watched me. I need to have someone do that. Something sure has changed w/ the start of this year.

Rags, I'm a firm believer in Masters Tru-Slide Teflon sole. I've made up 3 different removable soles using cut up Tru-Slides in various patterns to give me 3 slightly different slides. I would think with 2 Tru-Slide soles and some creative razor-blading, you could cover the outside leather strip with the Teflon and take it out of play.
I find this sole material doesn't stick when approaches are sticky, and doesn't overslide when they are slippery. When I do stick now, it's fixed with a heel change.

Rags -- If you weren't trying the Bowler's Slide Sock (and since it didn't work I'm sure it was something else), you didn't have the BEST. Link is below, give it a try. -- JohnP
