http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wODcwNzA1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D

This^^^^ is the oldest video of me I have.. amazing how I actually bowled like that.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wODc1MDM3NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D

This a middle of the road video of me, here I am working on balance and overall timing.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wOTExMjAyNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D

This^^^^^ is the most recent video of me. Shot tonight actually, I was just bowling normally. (I like the 6 count second ball of the night)

I would appreciate any comments you people have, and suggestions are welcome as I am eager to improve my game and have the motivation to do so.

Thanks, Derek...

not done, dont listen to him. Just another stupid troll. As for your videos: It seems like your trying to slow swing down more now. It looks like your very tensed up, trying to control everything. Loosen up.

What gives you the right to call someone a bad bowler?
Maybe you should post a video of yourself. Than we can tell you if you are bad or not.
I personally thought that he wasn't bad. Just needs to straighten his arm just like I try to do.

more stable at the finish
knee bend
open up your backswing more to the side instead of towards the back

no way he is good he is one of the jerks, ignore him.

The only thing i am seeing right off the top is that your slidding foot is not directed at your target, actully unless your target is the left gutter it is no where near your target, this can sometimes cause you to miss left.

ok, so I need to loosen up, kepp the ball turned out to the side more/longer??.. and I read somewhere that by keeping sliding your foot out from the ball, your stablility will increase, but I will try sliding towards my target...
btw, the last vid is of 4 "control" shots, they showed the biggest differences in my swing and release.

thanks for the suggestions so far

Your almost solid!!!

The follow through is important.  When you release, it looks as of the arm crosses your body, telling me your trying to bend the ball more than you are trying to hit a mark.  I use to do this, and I've now learn how important it is to keep the follow through straight.  Try this, when you go on the downswing, pretend as of you are going to throw the ball with the top of your elbow.  That will help keep your arm straight, and when you release the ball, you should be straight up with the follow through.  You'll probably loose some hook, but you'll gain accuracy in your game and you'll be a much better scorer.  Just my two cents.

1. Ease up on the release.  You can generate plenty of revs without snatching it at the bottome of the swing.  It looks like you yank a few inside by trying to overpower the ball.

2. You loop the ball behind your back quite a bit.

3. Your "sliding" leg is really stiff.  Grip it and rip it might work while you're young, but your eventually going to want some knee bend.  Because you're so stiff at the line, you're bent over too far at the waist.  Bending at the waist actually robs you of power as well.

My guess is that you rip it up pretty good when you're on, but struggle a lot when one of your mechanical "flaws" takes over.  You have the modern power game off to a good start, you just need to smooth out the rough edges.

unfortunatly I wasn't sliding too well in that vid, I was having some problems with it.. I ended up scuffing the crap out of my shoes to slide a little bit, but for the most part, I don't bend my knee...

does anyone have any suggestions or drills that they use to get a little deeper knee bend??

Thanks everyone, Derek...

For a deeper kneebend try practicing walking to the line like you're walking down a flight of steps.  You would stiffleg yourself down a flight of stairs so visualizing that may help you some.

For what it's worth I think you have an awesome release.  With some fine tuning of the things prior to the release you have a bright future ahead of you.  I can tell you probaly have some problems squaring up and playing more direct.  Some practice with plastic will force you to move right and execute better playing up the boards though.

Main two things that I can see:

1.  There's a lot of movement in your upper body when you are releasing the ball...your head, etc. really need to stay put.
2.  Stop hitting through the shot so much...try to get the ball down into the lane instead of out in front of you with the revs.

Both things are related to one another and believe me they can be hard to get rid of.

your very right! today I was forced to move in with a burnt out raging inferno, and I just couldn't keep square at the line. It seemed as though no matter what I did, I would end up letting the ball out at least 3 or 4 boards right every shot.

I plan on working with a plastic ball all summer so I can work on consistency and accuracy.

Thanks for all the notes and tips you people have given me, I suspect that soon I will be able to help people, in the same fasion you have helped me.

First off, you have too much head movement.  Steady is in the last 2 steps.  Second, you arm is is straying too far from your body.  Also known as "chicken wing" but i'm not going to say it for you because its not too bad.  Third and most important, you hand is rotating around the ball early.  Get the weight of your ball more on your index finger, and make sure you keep your hand to the inside of the ball.  This will create more roll, a more consistent reaction, and punishing power.  I must say is that you have gotten much better from video to video and i see great potential.  Loosen the swing up and keep the hand behind it and you will be deadly.
