2nd shift leagues
« on: November 06, 2008, 12:34:58 PM »
On Fridays my house oils once in the morning and once at night. I bowl at 4 PM, right after I believe a senior league and some open play. The track area is usually way to burnt too play. I could move inside, but I was thinking of trying the outside, like around the first arrow. I have a lower rev rate, around 250-275 with my speed around 16 MPH. If I wanted to play this part of the lane, what type of ball should I use? My balls are in my profile, however I won't be able to use the Cherry Vibe tomorrow because I need to get the thumb plugged. If you have any other suggestions on where to play, that would also be appreciated.

I also have a Sidewinder that is 4" pin to PAP, pin below the fingers. Just throwing this out there because it does have a little bit of particle in it if it would help.

How About the SpitFire you have... The 2" pin to pap should make it a good ball for some control on the lanes.

Try the XXXL, if its that dry it will hook.

It does hook. But I can't achieve enough forward roll to get it to hit.

Playing down the 5 board (or there abouts) is a very difficult shot in a lane that is pretty burnt.  You need to be accurate with both speed and location, not to talk about release, in order to score.  Most who don't play this shot often or practice it will have a tendancy to push or pull the shot.  Ti
his is great if you have area or are a very acurate bowler.

Though you don't have a ton of revs but your speed sounds like its pretty good, why don't you find the oil line a play a small fade from just inside the oil line out to a break point that works (hopeully you find this during shadow) and floow the oil left as needed.  It probably doesn't need to be a big swing shot and a little lift with your good ball speed and the ball dynamics will carry the ball to the pocket.  Just a thought.
