Most versatile ball

In your opinion what is the most versatile ball out there on the market today. If you could only use 1 ball for conditions med to med heavy what would it be?

I changed surface immediately to something I can repeat. The ball is great.

Just to be sure, you are recommending me to take my disturbed from 2000 abralon to 4000 abralon,to make it more usable on a typical house shot? The way it is now I never get to use it unless I see a flood on the lanes. I hate to waste such a great rolling ball.

Yes but take it down to 500 and then back up to 4000 in order. It smooths out the cover and it will get down lane better. I use mine in my medium ths and then go straight to my lights out. The cover takes changes well.

Thanks!! I think i will bring my Oath out of retirement and sand it down to 1000 grit. My list will be from strongest to weakest   Oath 1000  Disturbed 4000  Hyroad Pearl 1500  IQ Tour 1500  Tropical Heat 2000     I should be able to get more use out of my Disturbed and just keep the Oath in case I hit a flood somewhere.

At first I wasn't going to share my opinion because I knew someone would chime in that a "Staffers" opinion was not needed or chastising me for giving my input.  Lo-and-Behold, you had to to be the first.

Everyone has the right to their opinions. However, when staffers chime in on topics like this would you they honestly say a different brand oppose to the brand they are on staff with?  I'm sure staffers have thrown other equipment before getting on staff with a company.

As a staffer I have to agree with The Lord Field Torment, if you have never thrown the ball how would you know what the ball could do? As track fanatic says "non staffers", is this a reference to lord field only or ANY companies staff members? Be specific. But as you said all staffers had to have thrown something, so I would say before I became a staff member the Hyroad. But just a suggestion, if your gonna single out "staffers" cover all brands not just the brand you don't like, also the brand you've never thrown.

My post did not say anything about one specific brand.  I said staffers which would mean ALL brands. Pat just happened to be the only staffer that I know who is on a staff that has posted.  I wouldn't mind trying Lord Field but the research i did in that brand, it would not work for me and my style.

Though I generally agree with you Track_Fanatic, I kinda feel this type of thread is well suited for staffers to comment.  Should I take a suggestion from some hack who only has the high-performance stuff from Utah?  Or should I listen to the guy with 1000+ revs and throws only the 300 series from Track and urethane?

Personally, I would like to get some information from a person who may have equipment that suits a wide variety of conditions.  And to me, that is a staffer.  If Pat says a ball is the most versatile, then I know it is probably the most versatile ball in the Lord Field or Lane Masters line.  I feel the same way about JustinWi and Motiv.

Simply put, for a thread like this, I want information from people who KNOW a line up and can make knowledgeable statements about that line up.  I don't want Joe Shmoe telling me a Roto Grip Hyper Cell is the most versatile ball on the market.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I do understand your point and did not think of it that way. Yes, hearing from staffers on their equipment and what is the most versatile would definitely help if someone wants to stay within a brand.

As you know as staffers from our company we get tired and tired of hearing negative things about our company from people who have never thrown our equipment and it happens 90% of the time on this site, a ball review site for us bowlers to promote and help fellow bowlers. When I see a thread like this yes as a bowler I want the knowledge of someone who's thrown more than the mastermind, HYPERCELL or the red ball. But I did offer my opinion as a staffer and as a non staffer.
